Industrial Economist is part of a public limited company, Economist Communications Ltd. Incorporated in 1994, current board members of ECL are Mr. R. Thyagarajan, Chairman Shriram Group, Mr. S. V. Mony, former chairman, GIC, Mr. A. S. Narayana Rao, educationist and Mr P Vaidyanathan, Chairman, City Union Bank, Ms V Padma and Mr. S Viswanathan are full time directors.

Apart from printing and publishing Industrial Economist, ECL also presents the Economic Awareness Series of Lectures and seminars on topical issues.
