Dr C Rangarajan returns to Chennai

After 60 years Dr C Rangarajan (CR) has returned to Chennai and taken up residence at Nanganallur. CR taught at Loyola College in the 1950s and later at IIM-Ahmedabad. He served as the Deputy Governor and Governor, Reserve Bank of India, then as Governor of Andhra Pradesh. For a short while he also held additional charge as Governor, Tamil Nadu. In the last ten years he served as Chairman of  Prime Minister’s Economic  Advisory Council. In Chennai, CR heads the Madras School of Economics as its Chairman. He is bound to help expand interest in economic issues of this state.

Chennai has a rich resource of experts and renowned public men from various walks of life. The state and the region can benefit making use of their expertise and experience. This precious resource include C Rangarajan, V Krishnamurthy, M S Swaminathan, S Venkitaramanan,

S V S Raghavan, K P Geethakrishnan and several civil servants who have served at the national and international levels with distinction. The state should make use of their very rich leadership capabilities for its development.
