More Shakti to resource mobilisation...

IE welcomes the appointment of Shaktikanta Das as Revenue Secretary, Government of India. Shakti brings with him varied experience in handling industrial development, budget formulation and other aspects of finance administration. Shakti belongs to the TN cadre of IAS and helped in bringing to the state, several major industrial projects. I remember his efforts in the 1990s to bring the Mahindra Ford project to Tamil Nadu amidst stiff competition from Maharashtra. This laid the foundation for Tamil Nadu winning several other mega projects especially in the automobile sector, like Hyundai Motors and later BMW and Daimler. Best wishes, Shakti.
