Productivity Improvements in Agriculture

A demonstration and discussion on high-productivity techniques in Agriculture - Saturday, 12 January 2008, Padappai, Chennai

IE promoted the Agriculture Consultancy Management Foundation (ACMF), as a not-for-profit foundation, with the single point agenda of productivity improvement, to train and educate farmers on high productivity techniques in agriculture. Please visit our site www.agriconsulting.org for more details.

ACMF brought together leader from different fields as trustees to work towards achieving a quantum jump in agriculture production. These include: F C Kohli (TCS), B Muthuraman (Tata Steel), Dr. C Lakshmanan, renowned soil scientist from California, R Thyagarajan (Shriram Group), S Balasubramanian (Gemini Farm), B Santhanam (Saint Gobain), P Kumaraswamy (Pioneer Group) and myself.

At Gemini Farm near Padappai, we have been able to demonstrate the effectiveness of simple agricultural practices and productivity techniques that have helped achieve a three to four ‘fold increases in productivity of corn, sunflower and several vegetables.

ACMF firmly believes that the same attention bestowed to manufacturing and services sector by leaders in different sectors, if paid to agriculture can help achieve spectacular results. ACMF is organising a demonstration on Saturday, 12 January 2008, from 0800 hours, on simple high productivity techniques that have been proven at the demo farm in Padappai. The demo would be followed by a seminar at SRM auditorium followed by lunch.
